(Las Vegas, NV) -- Kid Rock didn't take the stage to perform at Sunday night's Billboard Music Awards, but he still made sure everyone at the event knew exactly how he felt about those who did.
Rock was actually there to present the award for Top Rap Song, which went to Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis for "Thrift Shop."
As for this year's more rock- oriented winners, Gotye earned a number of wins in categories that weren't presented during the ceremony. He and his collaborator Kimbra picked Top Hot 100 Song, Top Rock Song, Top Radio Song, and Top Streaming Song for "Somebody That I Used to Know." Meanwhile, fun. was named Top Rock Artist, Mumford & Sons' "Babel" got the nod for Top Rock Album, and David Guetta won the inaugural Top EDM Artist award.
Maroon 5 went into the evening as one of the top three finalists, but walked away with only one win for Top Hot 100 Artist. Most of the categories they were nominated in went to Taylor Swift, including the Artist of the Year honor.
The Billboard Music Awards also featured a slew of big-name performances. Ed Sheeran took the stage at Las Vegas' MGM Grand, as did Prince, Justin Bieber, David Guetta, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and many, many more. The event was hosted by Tracy Morgan, and broadcast live on ABC.
